The Minister for Infrastructure Development of the Solomon Islands, Manasseh Maelanga, has articulated the pivotal role the ocean plays in the lives and well-being of the islands’ inhabitants. Maelanga’s proposals include a universal mandatory levy on greenhouse gas emissions from ships.
