The Labasa football club North-Pole has returned home $4,000 richer after securing victory in the 2024 Cecil’s National Club Championship (NCCC). They triumphed over Buiduna with a score of 6-3 at the Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) grounds.

The match was closely contested during the first half, ending in a 2-2 draw. However, North-Pole took the lead in the second half when Melvin Mani scored in the 55th minute. Christopher Wasasala followed up with his second goal just six minutes later. Eparama Moraica and Mohammed Arbaz tallied the final two goals for North-Pole, solidifying their win.

Though they fell short in the final, Buiduna club made history by reaching their first NCCC final, taking home $1,000. Their impressive journey included a 2-1 victory over Rewa’s Nakasi Police, a narrow 1-0 win against Lautoka’s Rivals, and a draw against Nadroga’s Downtown, which secured their place in the final.
