New Leadership for iTaukei Affairs: What to Expect?

Jone Navakamocea has officially been appointed as the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs, a significant move acknowledged by Minister Ifereimi Vasu, who praised Navakamocea’s vast experience and leadership in the public sector. Navakamocea has held the acting role since April this year and has transitioned seamlessly into the permanent position.

Navakamocea holds a Master of Science degree in Macroeconomics, Policy, and Planning in Developing Countries from the University of Bradford and boasts over 30 years of experience in economic planning and development within government sectors. His extensive background includes roles in senior government positions, showcasing his capability to guide the ministry towards its goals.

Minister Vasu expressed confidence that Navakamocea will enhance the ministry’s efforts in serving the iTaukei community and advancing the broader national development objectives of Fiji. He emphasized that Navakamocea’s appointment comes at a crucial time for reinforcing the welfare, culture, and heritage of the iTaukei people while promoting sustainable development and good governance.
