New Horizons for Netball Fiji: CEO and Head Coach Positions Open!

Netball Fiji has reopened applications for the positions of chief executive officer (CEO) and head coach of the Pearls netball team, which were initially advertised on November 5. The head coach will oversee the national women’s team and manage the Netball Fiji High Performance programme, requiring applicants to have international coaching experience and a strong track record of working with elite athletes.

The head coach vacancy is set to close for applications by midnight on March 23. Interested candidates should submit their applications to the Fiji Netball Association via the provided email. The CEO role also demands a degree in Business Management and a minimum of five years in senior management with a financial background. Applicants for the CEO position must submit a detailed CV and cover letter addressed to the Netball Fiji president by March 31, 2025.

Previously, only two applicants (both from overseas) showed interest in the head coach role, with Nepal Fiji President RubyAnn Sorovaki indicating that interviews were to follow. Additionally, four local applicants will be interviewed for the CEO position. This transition period comes after former CEO Vivian Koster and Pearls head coach Unaisi Rokoura completed their three-year terms in December last year.

Alongside these roles, new vacancies for a Development Coordinator and a Development Officer have been announced, focusing on community engagement and program implementation.

The ongoing search for both a head coach and CEO represents a pivotal phase for Netball Fiji, aiming to build leadership that can enhance the team’s competitiveness on an international level. This provides an opportunity not only to bring in external expertise but also to develop local talent, laying the groundwork for future successes in Fiji’s netball community.

This strategic move by Netball Fiji reflects a commitment to growth and preparation, hoping to foster both immediate improvement and long-term development within the sport.
