Sairusi Nalaubu became the hero for Navua with a last-minute equalizer securing a 1-1 draw against Lautoka in their opening match of the Bic Fiji FACT. The first half ended without any goals as both teams struggled to find the back of the net.

The second half intensified as Navua attempted to break the deadlock with two close-range chances early on but were unable to capitalize. Lautoka took the lead in the 57th minute when Shazil Ali made a brilliant run down the right side and delivered a perfect pass to Saula Waqa. Waqa’s first shot was saved heroically by Navua goalkeeper Jovilisi Borisi, but the rebound fell to him again, allowing him to score and give Lautoka a 1-0 advantage.

As time was running out and Lautoka seemed destined for a victory, Nalaubu struck in the 95th minute. Collaborating with Filipe Baravilala, he executed a series of clever footwork before firing a clean shot directly in front of goal, ensuring that both teams earned a point.

This thrilling outcome reflects Navua’s persistence and resilience, traits that have been evident in their recent performances. Prior to this match, Navua demonstrated similar determination in their 2-1 victory against Tailevu Naitasiri, showcasing their ability to come back and fight until the end. As the season progresses, fans can expect more heart-pounding action and competitive spirit from Navua as they look to build on this momentum and vie for higher standings in the league.
