Nadroga secured its first point of the season with a thrilling 2-2 draw against Ba in Round 2 of the Extra Premier League, which took place at the Fiji FA Academy in Namosau on Sunday. The match was characterized by challenging wet and slippery conditions.
Ba took the lead when Faazil Ali found the net in the 39th minute. However, the Stallions fought back, with experienced player Siotame Kubu equalizing in the 73rd minute, which set the stage for an exciting final fifteen minutes. Youngster Ryan Naresh then scored a free-kick for Ba in the 82nd minute, putting them ahead once more. Yet, Nadroga’s resilience paid off, as Manasa Lavecake clinched the equalizer in the 88th minute, ensuring both teams walked away with a point.
Currently, Ba has accumulated 2 points from their first two matches, while Nadroga remains on the board with a much-needed point after this competitive draw. This result bodes well for Nadroga as they strive for further improvement in the league.
