At a recent event at Soloira District School, newly appointed prefects received encouragement from Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, to embody integrity and responsibility in their leadership roles. The badging ceremony took place in the school’s church hall, where Radrodro shared personal insights from his own experiences as a former student of the institution.
During his speech, Radrodro urged the prefects to embrace discipline, prioritize their education, and have confidence in their abilities. He underscored the transformative power of education as the key to realizing dreams and encouraged the young leaders to maintain high standards while placing God at the forefront of their endeavors.
Radrodro also appealed to parents and guardians, stressing the vital role they play in their children’s educational journeys. He remarked on the necessity for parents to collaborate with teachers to ensure that students receive optimal education, stating, “It is important that parents work hand-in-hand with teachers to ensure our students receive the best education possible.”
In line with previous efforts, Radrodro reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to expanding Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), which aims to equip students with practical skills essential for success in their future careers. The gathering concluded with accolades for the school’s Year 8 students, whose notable academic successes were attributed to the joint efforts of parents and educators.
