The Department of Immigration will introduce its Online Permit Processing System starting next month, specifically on the 2nd. This initiative is aimed at enhancing the efficiency and convenience of handling work permits, investor permits, and appeals.
To facilitate the transition to the new system, the department will cease accepting applications for work permits, investor permits, and appeals commencing this Friday. However, they assure that all paper applications currently in progress will be processed within the upcoming month.
The Immigration Department has stated that if an applicant’s current application expires between August 23 and September 2, and they have not submitted a renewal application, they will not face penalties.
Officials emphasized that the new system will streamline the workflow, significantly reduce the time needed for processing work permit applications, and allow applicants to track the status of their applications at every stage.
