Three subsidiaries of FMF Foods Ltd—DHF Pte Ltd, FMF Investment Company Pte Ltd, and FMF Snax Pte Ltd—have recently been accredited as Authorised Economic Operators (AEO) by the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS). This recognition was celebrated during the renewal of Gold Card and AEO membership in Suva earlier this week.
The newly accredited subsidiaries join Biscuit Company Fiji Pte Ltd, another FMF entity that recently had its AEO membership renewed. Swastika Prasad, the chief financial officer and company secretary of FMF Foods, expressed that this achievement marks a significant milestone for the company and its subsidiaries, especially following the AEO accreditation gained by the Biscuit Company earlier in 2023.
The AEO Programme, introduced by FRCS in 2018, aims to acknowledge businesses that consistently meet their tax obligations. Udit Singh, the chief executive officer of FRCS, highlighted that businesses benefiting from AEO accreditation enjoy various advantages, such as the elimination of certain fees and the option for deferred payments.
Prasad emphasized the commitment of FMF Foods to maintaining high standards of performance, underlining that this recognition affirms the quality the company strives for. She stated, “When we say ‘a promise of quality’, this is another promise of quality in the standards that we share across the Group.”
Additionally, the Gold Card Services initiative, which was launched in 2012, provides priority services to tax and customs-compliant companies, further supporting organizations like FMF Foods in their operations.
FMF Foods is listed on the South Pacific Stock Exchange, and the recent acknowledgment not only underscores its commitment to excellence in tax compliance and operational standards but also positions the company favorably in the market.
This accomplishment reflects a positive trend in enhancing the business climate in Fiji by encouraging companies to meet their civic responsibilities while benefiting from streamlined processes and reduced costs.
