First Baby of the Year Arrives at Lautoka Hospital!

Lydiane Mucunabitu celebrated the arrival of her daughter, Charlotte Mucunabitu, who was born at Lautoka Hospital on January 1 at 12:34 AM. Baby Charlotte weighed an impressive 3.65 kilograms, bringing immense joy to her mother.

Ms. Mucunabitu shared that she had been admitted to the hospital earlier but was discharged on New Year’s Eve. After a restful sleep, she experienced intense contractions that prompted a rush back to the hospital. Due to the circumstances, a cesarean section was performed for her delivery.

Reflecting on the experience, Ms. Mucunabitu praised the medical team, stating, “The team were perfect, especially the doctors. I had a C-section done but I was fully awake the whole time.” While she couldn’t see the procedure, she described feeling the pressure as the baby was brought into the world.

The emotional highlight for her was hearing Charlotte’s first cries, especially as her husband remained outside the operating room. She encouraged other new mothers to remain calm and trust their bodies during the birthing process, emphasizing, “Your body knows what to do when it’s time.”
