The Digicel Junior Kula Fiji Under 16 women’s team achieved their first victory at the Oceania Football Confederation women’s championship, helping to sustain their hopes for the Under 17 Women’s World Cup in Colombia. They secured a 2-0 win against the Cook Islands at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva yesterday.
Sisilia Kuladina netted the opening goal for Fiji in the 14th minute, followed by a second goal from Grace Lakavatu just five minutes later, bringing the score to 2-0. Kuladina’s outstanding performance earned her the Player of the Match award.
