The Electoral Commission of Fiji (ECF) convened today in its quasi-judicial role to consider the appeal filed by Opposition MP Alvick Maharaj concerning the Registrar of Political Parties’ decision to deregister the Fiji First Party, effective July 1, 2024.
ECF Chair Barbara Malimali announced that the process is currently in progress, with the commission anticipating the release of their decision once the proceedings are concluded.
Malimali emphasized the necessity for discretion during this period, urging the public of Fiji to remain patient and understanding.
