Labasa defender Unaisi Tuberi has been appointed as the captain of the first-ever Digicel Fiji Women’s Futsal team. The 30-year-old, hailing from Nadogo, brings considerable experience to the position, having served as captain of the Fiji Kulas in the past. Head coach Jerry Sam commended Tuberi’s leadership skills, noting that her extensive understanding of the game makes her a valuable asset to the team.
“During training, Tuberi stands out with her leadership qualities; she can efficiently organize and communicate with the players, which is crucial in futsal as we require someone like her to lead the team,” Sam remarked. Tuberi will be joined by former Kulas player and current Rewa Women’s representative Naomi Waqanidrola as her assistant.
