Fiji Women’s Futsal Team Names First Captain: Meet Unaisi Tuberi

Labasa defender Unaisi Tuberi has been appointed as the captain of the newly formed Digicel Fiji Women’s Futsal team. The 30-year-old, hailing from Nadogo, brings extensive experience to the position, having previously served as captain of the Fiji Kulas. Head coach Jerry Sam commended Tuberi’s leadership skills, emphasizing her value to the team due to her deep understanding of the game. “Tuberi stands out during training; she possesses leadership abilities and can effectively organize and communicate with her teammates, which is crucial in futsal,” Sam noted. Tuberi will be supported in her role by former Kulas player and current Rewa Women’s representative, Naomi Waqanidrola.
