Weather Forecast

Greetings, weather watchers! As our trusty meteorologists at the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi revealed this morning, it looks like Fiji is about to serve up a platter of weather with a side order of drama.

For today, expect a blanket of clouds to tuck in over the Fiji group, with some sassy afternoon and evening showers making an appearance—likely accompanied by a thunderstorm that’s just itching to show off its loud personality. Areas like Sigatoka-Korolevu, Serua-Namosi, and Navua-Suva-Nausori might get a little extra excitement with those thunderstorms, while the rest of the islands will enjoy the drama but keep it relatively mild.

Winds will be blowing in from the northeast to northwest, and the seas will be feeling moderate—think of it as nature’s way of reminding us to keep our sea legs ready.

Looking ahead to Thursday, we can expect the weather to turn its frown upside down with mostly fine conditions. A few isolated afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms may make an uninvited appearance over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu—let’s hope they come quietly!

Here’s a sneak peek:

Navua/Suva/Nausori: Cloud cover today with some sneaky showers and thunderstorms. You’ll want to enjoy that min of 25 degrees while trying to dodge the heavens’ waterworks, reaching up to 33 degrees.

Natadradave/Korovou, Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Prepare for the same cloudy antics with intermittent showers and thunderstorms, where temperatures will also dance between 25 and 33 degrees.

Nadi/Lautoka/Ba: Oh look, it seems like fine weather is giving you a break with only a sprinkle of afternoon storms to keep things interesting. We’re talking 25 degrees minimum rising to 33.

The Yasawa/Mamanuca group, Labasa, Savusavu, and Taveuni are also in for some auditory flair from those thunderstorms. But fear not! For Thursday, a mix of sunshine and rogue shower antics will keep things lively with temperatures ranging between 24 and 33 degrees.

And don’t forget about our friends over in Lau, Lomaiviti, and Kadavu, who will also be seeing cloud cover and occasional showers, with their temperatures playing nice around 25 to 32 degrees.

Now for our brave folks in Rotuma: it’s all about those northeasterly winds today, bringing cloudy periods and brief showers, with your own dramatis personae of cool winds and choppy seas mixing things up a bit—min 25, max 31.

So there you have it, folks! Grab your umbrellas, don your flip-flops, and don’t let a little weather get you down. Keep smiling, because in Fiji, even the storms have a little laugh.
