Grab your umbrellas, folks! An important HEAVY RAIN ALERT is still in effect for the fabulous Fiji Group. The weather is doing its best impression of a soap opera: cloudy, dramatic, and occasionally bursting into tears.
What’s in store for today? Expect a romantic dance with rain – it’ll be popping in and out, heavy at times, possibly with a few thunderous applause from Mother Nature. But don’t fret! The rain is predicted to ease up from the west later today and should gracefully exit stage left by midday tomorrow.
Here’s the scoop for the Fiji group until midnight tomorrow:
Today: Occasional fits of rain, heavy as your Auntie’s secret chocolate cake, with some wild thunderstorms making guest appearances across most regions. Later today, the rain will start its slow retreat from the west.
Tomorrow: More of the same, but with a twist! Expect sporadic rain and the potential for thunderous drama over Vanua Levu, Taveuni, and the surrounding smaller isles, as well as Lau and Lomaiviti groups. But don’t worry, the weather will clear up to reveal sunny smiles from the afternoon onwards! Kadavu, Nadroga-Navosa, Serua-Namosi, Naitasiri-Tailevu, and Rakiraki might see some cloudy periods with brief showers, while elsewhere should remain primarily fine. The nights will be cool enough that you might want a cozy blanket as your nighttime companion.
Winds from the north to northwest will keep things interesting, freshening up later on. Just a heads up: gusty winds might join in on the party wherever heavy rain and thunderstorms are happening, so hold onto your hats!
The seas? Moderate to rough – definitely not a place for your inflatable flamingo this weekend!
