At the 2025 ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards held in Nadi last Saturday, ROSIE Holidays, Nanuku Island Resort, and IHG Hotels and Resorts Fiji emerged as prominent winners, showcasing the exceptional talents and dedication within Fiji’s tourism industry.

ROSIE Holidays secured three prestigious awards, including the 2025 Inbound and Transport Operator Award, the 2025 Cultural Tourism Champion award which was given to Eroni Bole, and the 2025 Accommodation Deluxe award for Malolo Island Resort, recognized for its excellence in hospitality with fewer than 50 rooms. Intercontinental Fiji Golf Resort also performed admirably, taking home two awards: the Conference and Incentives Operator of the Year and the Training and Development Award. Additionally, Akshay Alvin Chand, the IT manager at Intercontinental Resort, was honored with the Rising Star award.

Tony Whitton, managing director of Rosie Travel Group and Ahura Resorts, expressed pride in the achievements of their team of over 700 employees and the resorts, including Likuliku Island Resort. He emphasized that the awards were a testament to the hard work and contributions to excellence made by their staff.

Lachlan Walker, the regional general manager for IHG Hotels and Resorts Fiji and Pacific, highlighted the importance of their workforce, stating, “Our people are our most prized asset.” He underscored the commitment to staff empowerment through training initiatives, which has led to significant recognitions like the Rising Star award received by Akshay.

Nanuku Island Resort, based in Pacific Harbour, was awarded the Community CSR award for its outstanding contributions to local villages and communities in Serua. The resort also won the 2025 Food Tourism Award. Charlotte Steele, the human resources manager for Nanuku, remarked on the recognition of four years of dedicated work, saying, “This has been four years in the making. We would like to dedicate this award to our staff back home in Pacific Harbour because without them we would not have been able to achieve this.”

These achievements reflect a growing commitment to excellence within the Fijian tourism sector, promising a bright future for the industry as it continues to innovate and engage with local communities.
