Fiji Takes Bold Steps for Gender Equity in Law and Justice

The Ministry of Justice in Fiji has made a meaningful advancement in promoting gender equity within law and justice sectors by officially recognizing the contributions of women on International Women’s Day. This marks a historic acknowledgment, showcasing the government’s dedication to encouraging more female representation in these vital fields.

Permanent Secretary Selina Kuruleca emphasized that the initiative aims to inspire young women to explore careers in law and justice, which offer diverse opportunities beyond the traditional roles of lawyers and judges. “We have celebrated International Women’s Day for many years in Fiji, but women in law and justice have never been honored before,” she stated during the event.
