Vodafone Fiji Fashion Week will unveil a bold new runway layout for its 2026 main shows, organisers announced, as the event prepares to mark its 20th anniversary. The redesign, scheduled for May 29 and May 30 at the Vodafone Arena, introduces a circular runway extension and a reconfigured audience plan aimed at delivering a more immersive, internationally inspired show experience.
Events Coordinator Arishma Chand said the new layout was intended to give designers greater creative freedom while offering spectators multiple viewing angles. “This setup is designed to reflect a high-fashion show experience, offering multiple points of view — from floor seating and bleachers to the VIP box and grandstand,” Chand said, adding that three large screens will be integrated into the design so “every guest, no matter where they are seated, will have a clear and uninterrupted view of each garment.”
At the heart of the new design is the circular runway extension, which organisers say allows models to present garments in several directions and gives designers more scope to experiment with movement and staging. Large digital screens positioned around the venue will supplement live sightlines, enhancing visibility of details that can be missed from afar at traditional proscenium-style shows.
The same stage will host the Vodafone Fiji Fashion Week Student Designer Show, presented by Fiji Water, which is set for Saturday, May 30 at 9am. The student showcase highlights emerging local talent and will now benefit from the revised layout and audiovisual setup, organisers said, allowing jurors, industry guests and the public to better assess the work from different perspectives.
The redesign comes as Vodafone Fiji Fashion Week celebrates two decades of staging local and regional fashion on a major platform. Organisers said the change prioritises audience experience “without compromising on style or scale,” reflecting trends seen at international fashion weeks while retaining accessibility for Fiji’s fashion community.
With anticipation building and organisers expecting attendance to mirror last year’s full-house crowds, attendees are being urged to secure tickets early. Tickets for the main shows and associated events are now on sale, with organisers emphasising limited capacity in certain seating areas created by the new configuration.
