Pacific Dermatology Limited has made a significant contribution to healthcare in Fiji by donating medical equipment valued at $53,000 to the Ministry of Health and Medical Services. This generous donation is anticipated to strengthen dermatology services in the region and enhance the Fiji National University’s postgraduate dermatology program.
Dermatologist Meciusela Tuicakau emphasized the importance of this contribution, stating that it comes at a critical time as the program enters its seventh year of operation. The equipment, particularly surgical items, will greatly enrich the learning experience for students, providing them with the crucial tools needed to deepen their expertise in dermatology.
The postgraduate program at Fiji National University is designed to be interactive; trainees participate directly in daily dermatology clinics, gaining hands-on experience while being guided by seasoned specialists. This practical approach not only equips students with essential skills but also ensures they are well-prepared for their future careers in dermatology.
This donation marks a positive step forward in improving healthcare education in Fiji and enhancing the quality of medical services available to the community.
