Fijian Drua captain Tevita Ikanivere is anticipated to depart the club following the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season. Coach Glen Jackson confirmed this information during a recent interview, highlighting that Ikanivere’s match against the Western Force in Lautoka could serve as his final home game for the team.

Jackson also mentioned that several other players may be concluding their time with the Drua, as the club seeks to rejuvenate its roster and welcome new talent. He expressed excitement about finishing the current season strong while looking forward to what lies ahead. “I think Tevita will come back in and lead the team in Lautoka, and he deserves a big finish in the game,” Jackson stated, underscoring the significance of this farewell.

Ikanivere has been an integral part of the Drua since their inception into Super Rugby in 2022, amassing 48 appearances and scoring 12 tries over the last four seasons. His influence extends beyond the Drua; he has earned 23 caps for the Flying Fijians since 2019, along with two appearances for the Barbarians.

This upcoming transition not only marks the end of an era for Ikanivere and the departing players but also provides an opportunity for the Drua to cultivate fresh talent. As the club prepares for the future, there is a hopeful sentiment surrounding the emergence of new players who can contribute to the team’s ongoing development and success in Super Rugby.

Fans are encouraged to rally behind the team during this bittersweet moment, celebrating Ikanivere’s contributions while looking forward to an exciting new chapter for the Drua. The focus on revitalization and the promise of new talent signify a positive outlook as the club navigates this period of change.
