Empowering Fiji’s Future: A Call to Transform Education

The Fiji Head Teachers Association has been urged to develop practical solutions to enhance the educational landscape for children in Fiji.

During the opening of the 41st Fiji Head Teachers Association Conference at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort in Denarau, Education Minister Aseri Radrodro emphasized the importance of fostering an environment that ignites children’s minds with creativity and innovative thinking, preparing them to become effective leaders in the future.

He stated, “You are tasked to bridge the gap between tradition and innovation, and I encourage you to empower your students to be independent thinkers.” Radrodro highlighted that teamwork is essential for social cohesion, but it is crucial to first shape children’s character to instill a sense of purpose, vision, and direction.

The Heads of Schools (HOS) were encouraged to extend their influence beyond the classroom, engaging with students and their families to provide support. “Be a transformative leader. The government has invested in you to lead your schools effectively, and we should strive to create an educational environment where every student can succeed, every teacher can thrive, and every community can prosper,” Mr. Radrodro concluded.
