Nasinu Secondary School is set to place a significant emphasis on its long-distance athletes as it gears up for the imminent Suva Zone Two meet and the Fiji Finals. During the school’s inter-house competition at HFC Bank Stadium, long-distance coach Munil Sami expressed his encouragement regarding the athletes’ performances.

This season, Nasinu has adopted a novel approach, commencing training right after the 2025 Fiji Finals. Sami believes that this early start has been pivotal in building both depth and endurance, enabling the team to prepare well in advance for critical competitions.

Over the past three years, Sami has observed consistent improvement within the long-distance program, with athletes striving to elevate their performance standards each season. He remarked that the team has been diligently working towards both the zone competition and the Fiji Finals since the previous year, and they are keen to demonstrate the fruits of their labor in the upcoming weeks.

The Suva Zone Two meet is scheduled for next month, followed by the Fiji Finals, which will take place from April 30 to May 2. With the groundwork laid early, the athletes are optimistic and poised to make a strong showing at these prestigious events.
