A Coastal Inundation Alert has been issued for low-lying coastal regions of Southern Viti Levu, Beqa, Vatulele, Kadavu, and nearby smaller islands, as well as the Central and Southern Lau Groups.

According to the Fiji Meteorological Service, a high-pressure system located to the southwest of Fiji is anticipated to produce moderate to heavy southerly swells across the southern waters of Fiji, which could lead to coastal inundation in these vulnerable areas.

The Weather Office has warned that residents in the affected low-lying coastal regions should prepare for potential sea flooding during high tides, particularly tonight at 8 pm. It was also noted that debris along these coastal areas may pose dangers, especially during high tide, impacting recreational activities.
