Charlie Charters has received permission to travel abroad for work following a ruling by Suva Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne. The court granted a bail variation, allowing Charters to travel to Australia, where he is set to participate in a tournament.

Charters’ defense attorney, Seforan Fatiaki, articulated the necessity of this overseas trip, emphasizing the importance of the event to Charters’ professional commitments.

Despite facing charges from the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption for two counts of aiding and abetting under the Crimes Act 2009, Charters will now be able to fulfill his employment obligations internationally. This ruling marks a significant step forward for Charters, who is navigating the challenges posed by his legal situation.

Further developments and details regarding this case will be covered in the evening news bulletin at 6pm. The ruling not only supports the notion of allowing individuals to pursue their careers even amidst legal challenges, but it also highlights the importance of designated legal processes in balancing rights and responsibilities.
