Fiji’s national football team, known as the Bula Boys, is gearing up for an essential semi-final match against New Zealand’s All Whites in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, set for March 21, 2025. In preparation for this pivotal encounter, the Bula Boys have recorded a 1-0 victory over Eastern Suburbs AFC, following an impressive 3-0 triumph against Auckland United.

Defender Sterling Vasconcellos, at just 19 years old, expressed optimism about the team’s camaraderie, stating that the lighthearted atmosphere has strengthened their teamwork. “We’re always making jokes and working together. Vasconcellos, who began his football journey at Dreketi Sangam School, is excited about the team’s potential. He has experienced substantial growth during training at this level, honing his tactical awareness which he believes is crucial for their preparation. “It’s another level here, quite fast and tactical so that has helped me a lot with understanding and reading the game,” he added.

Reddy remains hopeful that the team’s rigorous training camp has fully prepared them for the forthcoming challenge, particularly as they face the All Whites, whose players will arrive shortly before the match.
