The ACT Brumbies have unveiled their squad for the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season, aiming to improve on last year’s semi-final finish. The team has successfully retained 30 players from the previous season, showcasing a balanced mix of seasoned veterans and emerging young talents.
A noteworthy highlight of the squad is the inclusion of seven Wallabies who played in a thrilling match against England, contributing significantly to the team’s success. Players such as Nick Frost, Rob Valetini, and Noah Lolesio demonstrated their prowess during that game, with Valetini recently winning back-to-back John Eales Medals as the 2024 Wallabies Player of the Year.
In addition to the retained players, the Brumbies welcome six newcomers: two seasoned signings from the Melbourne Rebels, Tuaina Taii Tualima and David Feliuai, alongside four Academy graduates stepping up from the Elite Development squad. Head coach Stephen Larkham expressed his excitement about the squad’s formation and the potential impact of new joiners, emphasizing the importance of continuity while also looking forward to the promise of youth and fresh talent.
Tualima, capable of playing as a lock or backrower, boasts considerable Super Rugby experience, while Feliuai made his mark last year and was recently selected for the Wallabies squad. The development of young players like Lachlan Hooper, Kadin Pritchard, Shane Wilcox, and Tevita Alatini illustrates the effective player pathways established within the club, providing a hopeful outlook for the team’s future.
As the Brumbies prepare for their 2025 campaign, the team is in high spirits, eager to build on last season’s achievements. Their first match will take place in Suva, Fiji, against Fijian Drua on February 15, 2025, followed by a home game against Western Force a week later. With a blend of experience and fresh talent, the Brumbies are poised for an exciting season ahead.
This positive outlook reflects the club’s ongoing commitment to success and player development, suggesting that fans can expect an exhilarating season of rugby.
