The upcoming Bluewater Boxing promotion set for February next year features veteran boxer Joseph Kwadjo facing off against Robin Hazel-man in the main event. Promoter Samir Khan confirmed the exciting bout to SUNsports, stating that there will be four events hosted throughout the year.
The fight is scheduled to take place at the Vodafone Arena in Suva and will officially launch on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Holiday Inn. In addition to Kwadjo and Hazel-man, other boxers slated to participate include Alifereti Kauyaca, Paulo Ratumaikoro, and Ratu Rakuro Daunivavana. Mohammed Ali and Jese Ravudi are also expected to make appearances in the ring.
Khan emphasized that the organization has adhered to guidelines and regulations during its previous events this year, successfully providing necessary medical support without encountering any obstacles, including the provision of ambulances and drug testing. However, he also noted that boxers participating in these fights are not insured, which is an important factor in this highly competitive and often dangerous sport.
To ensure safety, Khan mentioned that the health of the boxers will be closely monitored, and medical certificates will be required from the participants. The Bluewater promotion aims to provide opportunities for registered boxers from local clubs, insisting that all coaches and managers must present legitimate credentials to participate.
This initiative not only promotes the sport of boxing but also ensures that participants are safeguarded and that the events maintain a level of legitimacy and professionalism. With a focus on safety and inclusion for local boxing clubs, the upcoming events point towards a promising year for boxing enthusiasts in the region.
Overall, this announcement brings excitement to the local sporting community and demonstrates a commitment to fostering talent while prioritizing the wellbeing of the athletes involved.
