Westpac and Verifone Team Up to Revolutionize Fiji’s Payment Solutions

Westpac is set to enhance its Point of Sale systems in Fiji, partnering with global payment technology leader Verifone to offer improved and secure payment solutions for local businesses. The upgrade is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2025 and will feature modern capabilities such as mobile POS devices and an online reporting portal, allowing businesses to manage transactions more efficiently, track reports in real-time, and process payments on the move.

Shane Smith, CEO of Westpac Fiji, emphasized the importance of innovation in enhancing the transaction management experience for local enterprises. The introduction of tools like Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) is expected to cater to international clients, thus improving the transaction experience for tourists and visitors.

This initiative not only aims to simplify operations for local businesses but also reflects Westpac’s broader commitment to support the Fijian business community in remaining competitive on a global scale. By providing sophisticated payment tools and fostering a supportive infrastructure, Westpac intends to empower local businesses and help them thrive in a rapidly evolving marketplace.

As similar initiatives in the past, such as Westpac’s collaboration with Verifone to enhance its payment options through integrated POS systems, have shown positive impacts on operational efficiency, this current upgrade is expected to yield similar benefits. Overall, these enhancements stand as a testament to Westpac’s commitment to technological progress and supporting the local economy, promising a more prosperous future for businesses in Fiji.
