Malolo Rugby’s assistant coach, Joseva Domolailai, expressed disappointment regarding the early termination of their opening match against the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua Development side, which was halted at halftime to protect the field. The match concluded with the Drua Development leading 19-0, preventing Malolo from mounting a potential comeback in the second half.

Despite the frustration felt by the players in losing valuable playtime, Domolailai acknowledged that the weather conditions, which influenced the officials’ decision, are beyond anyone’s control. He emphasized their gratitude for still being able to participate in the match, noting it was a valuable opportunity for the team.

Garlen Peace, a member of the Drua Development squad who did not play, complimented Malolo’s effort and intensity during the first half, suggesting that the match was shaping up to be a compelling contest with the potential for an exciting second half.

Looking ahead, the Drua Development side is scheduled to participate in another curtain raiser when they travel to Ba next fortnight to take on Ba Rugby. Following a bye next week, the Drua will return to host the Brumbies in Ba. This upcoming challenge may provide both teams an opportunity to showcase their skills and determination on the field.
