Preparations are in full swing in Samoa for the highly anticipated UB40 Pacific Tour featuring the iconic Ali Campbell. The band is set to perform in the Samoan capital, Apia, on January 31, promising to turn the national stadium into a vibrant hub of music and celebration.
Local authorities are actively working to facilitate travel for concertgoers flying in from American Samoa, Hawaii, New Zealand, and Australia, highlighting the far-reaching appeal of the legendary reggae band. Niumata Kitiona Pogi, the CEO of Samoa Tourism, expressed the local community’s excitement about the upcoming event.
“STA is proud to be part of UB40’s Pacific tour, presenting us with a unique opportunity that perfectly aligns with our marketing vision,” Pogi remarked. He went on to share the significance of the concert’s timing, stating that it coincides with Samoa’s traditionally quieter season, which creates a unique opportunity to bolster investments and uplift the local community.
Pogi emphasized that the event is a fantastic way to kickstart 2026, coinciding with the back-to-school season, and aims to generate excitement throughout the community. In addition to the Apia concert, UB40 will also take the stage at Teufaiva Park in Nuku’alofa, Tonga, on January 28, as part of their Big Love Pacific Tour.
This musical journey not only promises to entertain but also strengthens connections among Pacific nations, creating a sense of unity and joy as communities come together to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the region.
