Teachers who have elevated their qualifications under the Teacher Remuneration Policy should check their bank accounts, as the Ministry of Education has disbursed a total of $988,648.30 to those who meet the criteria.
Education Minister Aseri Radrodro emphasized that this timely payment reflects the Coalition government’s dedication to supporting educational excellence by ensuring teachers are compensated fairly. He mentioned that this initiative is expected to have financial implications totaling $2.3 million for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. Teachers with the necessary qualifications will be permanently upgraded to either Band E, Step 1 or Band F, Step 3 in the Fiji Civil Service pay scale.
Radrodro acknowledged the critical role teachers play in the education system, stating that their dedication and hard work are recognized through this gesture. He described the payout as part of a broader strategy to reward educators for their commitment to maintaining a high-quality workforce.
