Minister for Women, Children, and Social Protection Sashi Kiran echoed these concerns, stressing the complexity surrounding the issue. Many educated women remain silent, hoping their partners will change, unaware that they may be trapped in a cycle of abuse.
Kiran pointed out that women must understand that no form of violence is acceptable. In cases where children are involved, the implications of staying in such relationships can be dire. The minister urged women to advocate for themselves and seek help, whether that means encouraging their partners to pursue counseling or removing themselves from harmful environments.
