Weather Update

Hey there, weather watchers! If you’re living in or around Viti Levu’s southeastern coast, you might want to brace yourself because it looks like Mother Nature is feeling a bit feisty. A strong wind warning is still in effect, so if you thought today was a great day to fly a kite, think again! Those winds are gusting between 30 to 40 km/hr, with a possibility of reaching a breezy 55 km/hr starting tomorrow. It’s not just your hair that will be getting a workout—those rough seas are not for the faint of heart!

And as if that weren’t enough, a heavy rain warning is also waving its umbrella around the interior and southeastern parts of Viti Levu. Yes, Sigatoka, Navua, and Suva, we’re talking to you. It’s about to rain harder than a cow on a flat rock, and the thunderstorms are ready to bring the drama! So, if you have plans of having a beach day, you might want to swap it for a cozy movie marathon indoors instead.

Across the rest of Fiji, you’re not off the hook either! Expect cloudy skies with occasional surprises from the rain gods. Those isolated heavy showers and thunderstorms are like uninvited guests—they just keep showing up. And remember, it’s going to get pretty breezy out there, so be careful if you’re taking any small boats out for a spin.

On Wednesday, more waves! We’re looking at the same mix of clouds and unfortunate sprays of showers, especially around Navua, Suva, and nearby areas where the weather could turn grumpy. But don’t fret; for the rest of you, it’s not all doom and gloom—some areas might even see the sun shining bright.

As for a heads-up about nighttime: pack a sweater! It’s going to be cool, so don’t be the one shivering under the stars.

So, folks, keep your umbrellas handy, and if you have a windbreaker, throw that on too. Let’s hope the weather doesn’t take any more unexpected detours!
