Weather Update
Listen up, Fiji! The forecast line-up has a common theme today: rain! A HEAVY RAIN WARNING is still very much alive and kicking across the whole of the Fiji group, ready to make your outdoor plans soggy and your umbrellas very popular.
And if you thought that was the end of our weather party, hold onto your hats! A STRONG WIND WARNING has swung into action for the coastal hotspots of the eastern and southern parts of Viti Levu—from the mouth of Sigatoka all the way to the coastal gems of Coral Coast, Nadi, Suva, and beyond. Those winds could hit speeds of 46km/hr, so consider this your free reminder to secure those loose garden gnomes!
So what’s going on? Well, a cheeky trough of low pressure has decided to throw a rain party over Fiji, and it’s set to stick around until Sunday. Expect the skies to look a little grumpy with occasional showers that could be heavy at times, accompanied by the occasional thunderstorm—think of it as nature’s way of keeping things exciting!
As we peek into tomorrow’s magic crystal ball, the forecast indicates more of the same—scattered showers over Navua, Suva, and several other picturesque spots. And let’s not forget about our friends in the Yasawa, Lau, and Lomaiviti groups, who might also get a wet surprise.
For those specifically in Navua, Suva, and Nausori: Billowing clouds will pull out their rain gear, delivering occasional rain and possibly thunderstorms—perfect cuddling weather, if you ask me!
Down on the Coral Coast and Sigatoka, you’re in for some occasional downpours too, and as you enjoy the ambiance (from indoors, preferably), those thrilling thunderclaps might just be the dramatic soundtrack you didn’t know you needed.
If you find yourself in Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua, or Rakiraki, brace yourself for similar wetness, complete with the occasional urban symphony of thunder.
For our friends in Labasa, Savusavu, Rotuma, and those in the enchanting Yasawa/Mamanuca group—get ready to embrace the rain!
So, in summary, grab those umbrellas and prepare for a wild ride through the rain-soaked weekend. It’s a perfect excuse to binge-watch your favorite series or whip out your favorite board games—you know, the ones that gather dust when the sun is shining bright. Stay safe and enjoy the weather!
