Attention, everyone! Grab your umbrellas and put on your best rain boots because we’re in for a wild ride! A thunderstorm warning for heavy rain is in place for the eastern parts of Viti Levu, stretching from Navua to Suva and further along the Nausori and Korovou routes to Natadradave and Naitasiri. Get ready to jump over puddles and maybe dance like no one’s watching!

So, what’s brewing in the sky? A slow-moving trough of low pressure has decided to hang out over the western parts of Viti Levu but will be drifting eastwards to set up camp just northeast of Fiji by Sunday. Meanwhile, don’t be shocked if you feel a gentle breeze; that’s just the west to southwest wind flow giving us a sneak peek of what’s to come.

Here’s your forecast until midnight tomorrow:

Today: Expect cloudy skies with a sprinkle of showers and the occasional rumble of thunder in the afternoon or evening. Isolated heavy rain is on the menu, which might just lead to a game of “Splash! Avoid the Puddle!” in the low-lying areas.

Tomorrow: More of the same cloudy vibes with brief showers making an appearance. Expect the odd thunderstorm to crash the party over the interior of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. With moderate west to southwest winds, it will be breezy enough to fly a kite—if only the rain would let you!

Now, let’s peek into the week ahead:

Monday Outlook: Ah, the sun is reportedly making a triumphant comeback across most areas! Just don’t let your guard down completely as isolated afternoon or evening thunderstorms may pop up in Vanua Levu, Taveuni, and a few nearby islands.

Local heavy falls could still cause flooding—a little heads up if your morning coffee goes swimming!
