Constable Divneel Singh views his role in law enforcement as a deep commitment to serving his community rather than merely a career. At the young age of 24, this native of Sigatoka is fueled by his passion to inspire positive change in the lives of others.

From childhood, Singh admired the dedication of police officers and the critical roles they play during difficult times. His ambition to join the force faced challenges, particularly during recruitment drives in Navua and Sigatoka in 2020, where he was disqualified twice. However, Singh’s determination remained unshakeable. With support from his family, he refined his skills and mindset, embodying resilience through adversity.

Eventually, his hard work paid off when he successfully passed another recruitment drive in Tavua, marking the beginning of his training at the Fiji Police Academy in 2020. Despite the personal challenges of being away from his family during training, Singh remained committed to his goal of serving and protecting his community.

Graduating from the academy on January 13, 2021, Singh felt a profound sense of pride in his achievement. He acknowledges that while the journey to becoming a police officer can be challenging, the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of others is incredibly fulfilling. He encourages aspiring officers to stay focused on their goals while emphasizing the importance of mental resilience, discipline, and mentorship.

Singh’s journey is paralleled by that of Adi Varanisese Likuyameyame Ravula Rayacarogo, who, like Singh, faced numerous hurdles before realizing her dream of becoming a police officer. Their experiences exemplify the power of perseverance and the importance of community support, inspiring others who aspire to join the force.

These young officers are symbols of hope for the future of law enforcement, demonstrating how dedication can transform communities and foster a safer, more supportive environment for all. Their actions underscore that through resolve and a commitment to serve, significant and lasting changes can be achieved.
