Rewa Football Club has taken a significant step in its leadership structure by appointing Tevita Waranivalu, the club’s influential midfielder and the 2024 Male Footballer of the Year, as the Interim Head Coach. This decision follows the recent departure of Coach Rodeck Singh, who accepted a position as the Director of Football for Ba Football Club.
In this dual role, Waranivalu will also continue to play for the Delta Tigers, reflecting his deep commitment to the club. He will be joined by Priyant Manu, who has been appointed Assistant Coach, while the team’s Captain, Setareki Hughes, remains in his leadership role. Rewa FA President Nazeel Buksh stated that there are no immediate plans for a permanent coaching appointment, emphasizing a focus on taking each match as it comes and placing trust in the current leadership group.
This coaching transition occurs at a crucial moment for Rewa FC, as they prepare for upcoming challenges, including local competitions and the OFC Champions League. The club’s recent history has shown resilience and a commitment to building a competitive squad, as illustrated by their strategic recruitment efforts, including the return of key players.
As the team adjusts to this change in leadership, there is hope that Waranivalu’s fresh perspective will lead to continued success on the field. The support from fans and the dedication of the players can foster a positive atmosphere for the club as they move forward.
This setup not only positions Rewa FC to capitalize on existing talent but also signifies a broader commitment within the club to nurture homegrown leadership and talent, ensuring a promising future for Fijian football.
