Only one week remains until the highly anticipated 2025 Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl, which will take place in both Suva and Labasa. The excitement is palpable as the event is set to commence from next Monday, featuring a variety of competitions from November 17 to 21, including volleyball, netball, boxing, cricket, touch rugby, and rugby league.
The festivities will kick off in Suva, where competitors will showcase their skills in various sports. Following this, on Thursday and Friday, the joyful atmosphere will shift to Labasa’s Subrail Park for soccer and rugby matches, marking the first time this portion of the Sukuna Bowl will be hosted in the northern region.
The Police team will be defending multiple titles this year, including those in the main rugby match, soccer, women’s touch rugby, boxing, cricket, and men’s volleyball. Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Aporosa Lutunauga expressed confidence about their chances, stating that they are well-prepared to retain their titles. The Army will compete to defend their rugby league and touch rugby titles, with both teams showcasing a spirit of competition.
“The toast of the event is the men’s rugby match,” Lutunauga emphasized, confidently vowing to keep the coveted trophy, the Tanoa, at Nasova, the traditional home of the Ratu Sukuna Bowl.
Fans keen to attend the matches in Labasa can purchase tickets priced at $10 for general admission, $15 for the side pavilion, and $25 for seats in the major pavilion.
