Ratu Navula College, led by captain Sainivalati Senileba, staged a dramatic comeback to defeat Natabua High School 23-19, securing the Vodafone Western Secondary Schools Under-17 final at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka today.
Trailing 6-14 at halftime, Ratu Navula College’s resurgence was fueled by tries from prop Avili Salavou, lock Osea Turuva, and Kaminieli Tuimasa. First five-eighth Sainivalati Senileba also contributed with two penalties and a conversion.
Natabua High School’s points came from tries by prop David Levy, flanker Apaitia Nagalevu, number eight Ilisoni Merekoro, and Benedito Finau, with first five-eighth Meli Nacuva and centre Samuela Monofolau adding a conversion each.
Both teams are set to compete in the national quarterfinals in Suva on August 10.
