Pacific Arts and Culture Shine at Allan Alo Festival 2024

The Allan Alo Arts Festival 2024 officially kicked off on the evening of September 2 at The University of the South Pacific’s Laucala Campus, celebrating the rich tapestry of Pacific arts and culture at the Oceania Art Gallery.

The festival commenced with a retrospective exhibition featuring works by renowned artists Allan Alo and Epeli Hau’ofa, setting the tone for a week dedicated to honoring Pacific cultural heritage. Throughout the festival, which runs until September 7, attendees can enjoy a variety of dynamic performances, workshops, and cultural exchanges.

Dr. Rosiana Lagi, Deputy Head of the School of Pacific Arts, emphasized the significance of the festival in commemorating Allan Alo’s legacy while also inspiring future generations. She stated, “The launch is not just the beginning of a week-long festival; it is a celebration of the enduring spirit of Pacific arts and an opportunity to honor Allan Alo’s contributions, reflect on the past, and look forward to the future with creative hope.”

Tickets for the grand finale, set for September 6 and 7, are available for purchase through Ticket Max.
