Former rugby stars are uniting to mentor the New Zealand Fijian Cavaliers, who are set to make their inaugural appearance at the 2026 McDonald’s Coral Coast Fiji 7s in Sigatoka. This tournament is renowned for attracting some of the most competitive and thrilling sevens teams and players globally.

The coaching staff for the Cavaliers is led by Akuila Matanibukaca, a former lock for the Flying Fijians, and renowned Fiji 7s icon Pio Tuwai. They will receive additional support and expertise from New Zealand 7s legends Eric Rush and Amasio Raoma.

The Cavaliers are eager to bring their unique rugby spirit to the Coral Coast Sevens, offering a blend of passion and the distinctive NZ Fijian style.
