The walkway project underway at Marist Brothers High School (MBHS) is set to be completed by next Thursday, following its commencement in August 2024. This 150-meter structure aims to enhance student activities by offering essential shelter from hot weather, thereby creating a safer and more comfortable outdoor area for students.

The initiative is being carried out by the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Engineers Regiment, with a committed team of eight engineers meticulously working on the project. Funding has come from the Marist Old Boys Class of ’84, highlighting the strong support from the community for improvements in educational infrastructure.

As the project nears completion, final touches are being applied to ensure readiness by the anticipated deadline. The collaboration between the military and educational sectors symbolizes a shared commitment to enhancing student facilities, which is part of a larger effort in Fiji to uplift educational infrastructure. This aligns with previous successful renovations executed by the RFMF at other schools, such as Nadogo Central College.

The completion of the MBHS walkway is poised to significantly improve students’ daily experiences at school. It is also a hopeful sign for future enhancements in educational facilities throughout Fiji, illustrating the power of collaborative efforts to create better learning environments that cater to student needs.
