A family in Navua is enduring profound grief following the untimely death of 29-year-old language teacher Mateo Nabaleimoto. His unexpected passing has sent shockwaves through his community and left his loved ones in deep sorrow.
Medical reports suggest that Nabaleimoto’s death resulted from a high-voltage electric shock believed to have originated from an exposed wire fence along Naitonitoni Rd. The loss has been particularly devastating for his family, which recently gathered to commemorate the passing of their father. His older brother, 31-year-old Petero Kelevanua, shared that they were in the midst of planning a traditional lovo feast for their father’s 50th remembrance ceremony when they received the tragic news.
Colleagues at Ratu Simione Matanitobua College described Nabaleimoto as a dedicated educator who was passionate about language. His commitment to teaching was reflected in the outstanding achievement of his Year 13 English students, who recorded a remarkable 100 percent pass rate last year.
The community remebers Nabaleimoto not only for his skill as a teacher but also for his caring nature and enthusiasm for fostering a love of learning. His legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire students and staff alike.
