The situation in Nadi has seen 190 evacuees instructed to return home following recent flooding, although five families remain concerned about water levels in their neighborhoods. Andrews Primary School has been serving as an evacuation center for those affected by the flooding that occurred three days ago, particularly impacting families from low-lying areas such as Nawaijikuma and Nawakalevu.
Nadi District Officer Alifereti Abenisiga emphasized the importance of the evacuees vacating the school premises by 3 PM. This situation not only showcases the community’s strength and unity but also highlights the importance of seeking and providing support during emergencies. It is heartening to see that despite the adversity faced, individuals and organizations are coming together to help those in need, fostering hope and positivity in the region.
