Montenegrin club FK Arsenal Tivat has received a significant sanction from UEFA, facing a 10-year ban from all club competitions due to match-fixing allegations. The decision stems from their Conference League qualifying matches against Alashkert FC in July 2023, where Arsenal Tivat drew 1-1 away but suffered a heavy 6-1 defeat at home.
Following a thorough investigation, UEFA’s disciplinary body, the CEDB, imposed not only the lengthy ban but also expelled key figures from the club. Notably, player Nikola Celebic and official Ranko Krgovic have been permanently banned, while two additional players received 10-year suspensions. To compound the penalty, Arsenal Tivat has also been fined 500,000 euros (approximately $578,400).
As part of the ruling, UEFA intends to ask FIFA to extend the ban globally, affecting Arsenal Tivat’s participation in all competitions until the end of the 2034-35 season.
