PROUDS, a prominent family-owned luxury shopping outlet, has made a significant investment of around $500,000 to establish a new outlet at the Damodar City Complex in Labasa. Reshmi Singh, the general manager of Prouds, shared that the outlet currently employs five staff members, three of whom are local residents from Labasa who previously worked at other Prouds locations.
Singh indicated the company’s intention to hire additional employees as the business continues to grow, aiming to increase the team size to seven members. This decision reflects their commitment to leveraging local talent and serving the community more effectively.
The opening of the Labasa outlet was driven by public demand, and the setup took approximately two months to complete. Sangeeta, the shop’s first customer, expressed excitement over the convenience that the new store brings, eliminating the need to travel to Suva for his favorite branded items. He highlighted the wide range of quality products now available, including jewelry, fragrances, cosmetics, and fashion accessories, all provided in a contemporary setting that meets international standards.
The new store is conveniently located next to Lunch Box and the food court at Damodar City Labasa. This expansion is not only a win for Prouds but also a boost for the local economy by providing jobs and enhancing shopping options for residents.
In summary, PROUDS has successfully opened a new outlet in Labasa, demonstrating its commitment to customer service and local community engagement. The establishment not only aims to fulfill the demand for luxury products locally but also hopes to expand its workforce, contributing positively to the region’s economic landscape.
