Judicial Services Commission Chair Salesi Temo held a meeting with the President at the State House this morning to address important issues regarding the Fiji Independent Commission against Corruption (FICAC). Sources from FBC News revealed that this meeting stemmed from the JSC’s recommendations to the President on several urgent matters.

In preparation for this discussion, the JSC convened an emergency meeting yesterday afternoon to deliberate on recent developments, particularly focusing on Justice Dane Tuiqereqere’s decision in the case of HBJ05 concerning FICAC. The meeting also addressed allegations made by a whistleblower that were brought to the JSC’s attention on Wednesday, as well as the recent arrest of former journalist and sports marketing specialist Charlie Charters by FICAC.

These developments highlight the continued scrutiny and challenges faced by FICAC, signaling a commitment to uphold integrity within Fiji’s judicial processes. As the situation evolves, further updates are anticipated.
