President of India, Her Excellency Droupadi Murmu, will conduct an official visit to Fiji from August 5 to 7.
H.E. Murmu became India’s 15th President following her successful election in 2022 as a candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party. She is the second woman to hold the office, following H.E. Pratibha Patil.
This visit marks the first time an Indian Head of State has visited Fiji.
To ensure the visit is well-coordinated, the Cabinet has set up an Inter-Agency Coordinating Committee to meticulously plan and execute each element of the program.
During her visit, President Murmu is expected to sign an agreement on the proposed sites for the construction of a new Indian Chancery, Cultural Centre, staff residence, and a 100-bed super specialty hospital in Suva.
