Tavua and Nasinu’s football teams faced disappointing outcomes in their pursuit of a spot in the 2025 Bic Fiji FACT after suffering significant defeats in the concluding round of the Extra Premier League. Both teams are now eliminated from contention for the tournament.

In the final matches, defending champions Lautoka showcased their determination by securing a 4-2 victory over Suva, thus ensuring their qualification. Nadi also made an impressive statement with a decisive 5-2 win against Navua. Ba confirmed their place in the tournament with a commanding 5-0 victory over Tavua, effectively ending Tavua’s hopes. Meanwhile, Nasinu was unable to secure a draw they desperately needed against Rewa, suffering a staggering 0-8 defeat at the Uprising Sports Complex in Pacific Harbour.

Labasa, the leaders of the table, maintained their strong performance by defeating Nadroga 3-0, further solidifying their position. The top eight teams for the 2025 Fiji FACT have now been confirmed, with matches scheduled to take place from May 30 to June 1 at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

The standings reflect the competitive nature of the league, as teams frantically battle for opportunity and glory. While the defeats for Tavua and Nasinu may be disheartening, other teams’ triumphs highlight the spirited contest in Fijian football. As the league progresses, hopes remain that these teams can regroup and come back stronger in subsequent competitions.
